IQ EQ HQ
Simon Holden (British) is a Chartered Director (CDir) and Fellow Member of the Institute of Directors.
My first career was in private equity as an investment director at Terra Firma Capital Partners (and at Candover Investments prior to that) and included interim executive roles in several corporate turnarounds.
Since 2015, I have gone on to build a portfolio career as an active independent director across each of i) FTSE:250 London Stock Exchange listed Investment Companies and Investment Trusts, ii) private equity funds, iii) privately owned operating companies and iv) strategic advisory work to family offices. In addition, I provide my time and expertise pro-bono as a Business Advisor to Guernsey Ports; the States of Guernsey body responsible for safe and available operations of all the Bailiwick’s critical air and maritime transport infrastructure.
A graduate of the University of Cambridge with an MEng and MA (Cantab) in Manufacturing Engineering, I now maintain professional interests as a member of industry interest groups across both asset management, financial services and intellectual property rights.
Operating across a range of industries, sectors, territories and talents (both executive and non-executive), I have a track record of achieving results for shareholders in the face of challenging, complex and dynamic situations (often under the scrutiny of public markets and their regulations).
As an individual of integrity, I perform my duties in each and every role with a focus on sustainable strategies to deliver long-term value, principled and balanced governance, enhancing the executive, and with diligence and dedication to the interests of those shareholders I'm privileged to represent in the board room.
